TRADOS WinAlign is a desktop alignment utility for translators and localization teams that converts existing bilingual documents into reusable translation memories. It automatically segments source and target texts, proposes sentence-level matches, and lets you refine alignments in an interactive editor—split, merge, re-link, or exclude content as needed. Aligned pairs can be exported to TMX or native TRADOS formats for use in CAT tools. The tool supports multiple languages, handles common document types via filters, and includes basic QA to catch gaps, duplicates, or out-of-order segments. It’s especially useful for onboarding legacy translations, preparing parallel corpora, and jump-starting translation memories before new projects.
